Kartheeswaran of Sattur is running an old paper depot at Lakshmi Nagar in Tirupur. On May 13, fire broke out around 2 am in his depot. Bundles of cardboards, thread cones were burnt down to ashes.
After a tough five hour fight, the Tirupur North Fire and Rescue personnel doused the fire.

Tirupur North MLA Vijayakumar, Corporation Commissioner Sivakumar and other officials visited the spot.
Following this the Commissioner has ordered, “Warehouses established amidst residential areas are dangerous for the public. Hence, no inflammable warehouses should be set within Corporation limits. The warehouses that were established already will be re-located after consulting with the fire service department.”
